16 week post!

Unfortunately (due to some crazy life situations), we didn't get around to taking 15 week pictures. So... here are the most recent, 16 week pictures! Of course, I am late, but only by 4 days this time!

How far along? 16 Weeks (16 weeks and 3 days)
Size of baby: a Turnip! (a little more than 5 inches long and weighs about 5 ounces)
Total weight gain/loss: Finally gained 3 lbs! I have been really nervous about the lack of weight gain, so this was a big deal!
Maternity clothes? Consistently wearing either the belly band or maternity pants. None of my pants fit anymore. We finally splurged on a nice pair of maternity jeans and I LOVE them... I really don't want to go back to regular clothes.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Only waking up about once a night to go to the bathroom right now, but I wake up a lot to change positions.
Best moment this week: Hearing the heart beat at the doctor on Wednesday! (It was 150 beats per minute! Very strong and healthy!!)
Food cravings: ANYTHING and EVERYTHING! I can't get enough to eat.
Gender: Still thinking pink... AND SOME BIG NEWS! We will find out the sex on October 25th (if the stinker will cooperate!)
Labor Signs: none
Belly Button in or out? In
What I miss: Nothing! Loving pregnancy!
What I am looking forward to: Finding out if this little one is healthy and finally knowing what he or she is!! This baby needs a name other than baby H
Milestones: Hmmm.... Maybe having my first doppler this week?! I can't think of anything other than making this far through pregnancy!

This was a memorable week for a few reasons.
1. I had my 16 week appointment this week. Everything went great and it was a super short appoinment. Some of my concerns were addressed this week including times of high blood pressure that I have been worried about. Dr thinks everything is okay though. The doppler went great! The second she placed the probe on my belly, the heartbeat was loud and clear!! We didn't even have to search for it! I also got a flu shot, so I am prepared for flu season! The other big blessing is they are letting me come in the day I turn 18 week pregnant for our BIG ultrasound!! I have been so nervous that they would make me wait the full 4 weeks, but they didn't even seem fazed that I asked to come early! So far, everything is right on track!
2. We are closing on our new house on Monday, October 18th... However, we received some bad new that the appraisal on our current house came out lower than the sales price.... a good bit lower.... so we are out a bunch of money that we were not planning on... This has been a huge stressor for us this week and continues to be one. I know things will work out, but we were just planning on having a little more cushion....
3. The worst thing that happened this week involved Clayton. Clay stayed home yesterday to do some more work on the house before the closing. Long story short.... He hurt his back pretty bad and ended up in the ER yesterday afternoon. I left work around lunch time to meet him there and ended up getting discharged around 7:00. We really don't know what's going on (because the stupid ER refused to do an MRI or CT scan because he didn't have a spinal cord injury.... Don't even get me started). We are setting up an appointment with an orthopedic for next week so we can get to the bottom of things... We are hoping it's all muscle strain, but are afraid it may be a herniated disc... PLEASE pray that we get this figured out and Clay some relief. This has come at such a bad time because we are moving next week and he was planning on doing most of the moving. I, unfortunately, cannot help move because I am not allowed to lift more than 10 pounds, so we are completely relying on family and friends.

Hopefully, next week will be less eventful and stressful on our bodies and bank account!!

Quick 14 weeks!
