It's a negative, 2 more to go, random rumors...

This post is definitely full of random updates/thoughts! Get ready for the randomness!
*First off and most important, I took Bella to the vet to get some blood work and a urinalysis to make sure she was okay after our traumatic incident. Specifically, she was being tested for cancer/tumor that might cause seizures. Thankfully, the tests came back NEGATIVE! The vet said she looks great and there is really nothing to worry about. He honestly thinks it was a one time thing that happened in response to stress;however, if she has another seizure it will mean that she has epilepsy. He said many dogs live with epilepsy and never have to take medications for it. THANK THE LORD!! We were so relieved and happy (even though we had a $170 vet bill in return... The price you pay for relief!)

*I am in the midst of finals and only have two left! So far, I have turned in my last paper EVER, presented my last presentation EVER, and taken two of my hardest finals (97.5 on one, and the other is pending....may not be so good though ;) I am locked in my house until Wednesday at 12, so please excuse my absence over the next few days!

*The countdown begins for the Seay-Pellegrino wedding extraveganza weekend! I really can't remember ever being so excited for a wedding! Lilly and her family have so many great things planned to make her weekend special and I can't wait to attend every last event! Since I know you read this, Lil, I wanted to tell you how I know you are going to look incredible on your special day. Please don't hesitate to call me for ANYTHING! (Plus, can't wait to spend a whole weekend with my best friends ever- P PHI G FOR LIFE!)

*Has anyone heard the most recent rumors about Jon Gosselin?!?! He's at it again. He was spotted leaving a club/bar at 2:00 with another woman, and was heard saying, "Baby, go get my coat." You can check the article out here My take on it is, whether or not you are cheating, you should never put yourself in a position where you can be questioned on your faithfulness, especially if you are married and ESPECIALLY if you are in the media spotlight. Yeah, it's okay to go get a drink with friends, but don't stay out until 2 am and don't call your "friend" baby.... Can't wait to hear what kind of sorry excuse he will offer to America...

Have a great weekend and hope to see some of you soon when he** week is over!

Back from the beach!

Just wanted to do a short post about my great week/weekend and then something not so great. I will do a bigger post later with pictures (but now I should be studying for finals!) From Wednesday-Saturday, me and 6 of my great friends from OT school went to Destin, FL for our last "Girls Trip" before we all leave for our level II fieldworks. I had the greatest time just laying out (and getting my worst sunburn thus far), going to dinner, drinking some beach drinks, and just talking. I love these girls so much and am going to miss not seeing yall everyday! I know we will stay best friends forever though!

In other news, Bella, our yellow lab, had a seizure last night. I got home from the beach around 5:00, and my parents had already picked up the dogs from the vet where they were being boarded (Clayton has drill for a week and a half right now, so isn't home.) Everything was fine, until I heard a loud bang around 7:00. We leave the dogs outside part of the time, so they were on the porch getting ready to eat their dinner. As soon as I opened the door, Charlotte ran inside and Bella was pushing herself inside with her head on the ground, but her butt in the air. She was acting like she was drunk and running into all the walls and the floor. Finally, she fell to the ground and started rolling uncontrollably and was foaming at the mouth..... I was freaking out (and saying a few choice words... maybe screaming a few choice words) and trying to get to the phone to call Clayton while also calming her down. I finally scooped her up and put her into the car to take her to the pet ER. As it turned out, my parents calmed me down and told me to wait a little bit before taking her (seeing as our last bill at the ER was $600.)

She ended up not having anymore seizures, but acted weird for another hour after it happened. She was hallucinating (biting at things that weren't there) and was clinging to me. Needless to say,it was most definitely the scariest thing I have ever witnessed in my life. On top of that, I didn't have Clayton here to calm me down, which made it that much worse.

**We got in touch with her vet today (he wouldn't call us back last night!) and he said he thinks she might have epilepsy. Most dogs don't begin having seizures until they turn 3 (if they are epileptic), which is how old Bella is turning in a couple of months. I am dropping her off at the vet for bloodwork tomorrow morning, which will most likely give us a solid diagnosis. With all that is going on in the world right now, I feel stupid asking you all to pray for her. However, she is our everything and we would be distraught if anything was to happen to her. If you feel inclined, I ask that you pray that it was just a one time incident caused by the stress of being boarded.

Pictures of the beach later! Have a great Sunday!

Just wanted to write a quick post about our savings today! We went shopping at Winn-dixie for bimonthly groceries and saved a total of $31.80 with coupons! YAY!!! We typically save around $20-30 on coupons, so I was proud of our savings amount today. I also went to CVS to try out the extra care bucks. I didn't really save a whole lot, but instead just tried out the extra care bucks for the first time. While I was there, I bought:
-Olay face cleaner (had a $1 coupon)
-Crest Prohealth toothpaste (had a $0.75 coupon, and got back $1.99 in ECB)
-With the ECB, I went back and got a pack of baby wipes for $1.99, which means I got them for free!

It was very easy, and I am planning on making a trip back in a couple of weeks to really get started with the CVS savings process!

Thanks to Marybeth Ely, Southern Savers, and Coupon Mom!

Over the past few weeks, I have spent a lot of time thinking of who I am as a person, what is important in life, and what/when some big life decisions should be made. I'm not sure if turning 25 has made me thinking more about life (clock is just ticking away!) or it is just a culmination of recent events, but I have been really thinking about what I want out of life. While wasting time today reading blogs (when I should be studying, of course), I stumbled upon this essay that someone wrote and feel like it fits my exact thoughts in this phase of life... I'm interested if anyone else has these thoughts and if yall are going through similar introspection on who you are.

They call it the 'Quarter -Life Crisis'...
- It is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realizing that there are many things about yourself that you didn't know and may not like...
- You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but then get scared because you barely know where you are now...
- You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those friends that you thought you were so close to aren't exactly the greatest people you ever met; the people you have lost touch with some of the most important ones...
- You also start to realize that it is truly amazing when two strangers become the best of friends, but it is truly devastating when the best of friends become two strangers.
- What you don't recognize is that they are realizing that too, and aren't really cold, catty, mean, or insecure, but that they are as confused as you...
- You look at your job and it is not even close to what you thought you would be doing. *Or maybe you are looking for a job and realizing that you are going to have to start at the bottom and that scares you.*
- Your opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are doing and find yourself judging more than usual because suddenly you realize that you have certain boundaries in your life and are constantly adding things to your list of what is acceptable and what isn't.
- One minute you are insecure and the next, secure.
- You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your life.
- You feel alone and scared and confused...
- Suddenly change is the enemy and you try and cling on to the past with dear life but soon realize that the past is drifting further and further away, and there is nothing to do but stay where you are or move forward...
- You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved so much could do such damage to you. Or you lie in bed and wonder why you can't meet anyone decent enough that you want to get to know better. Or maybe you love someone but love someone else too and cannot figure out why you are doing this because you know that you aren't a bad person... (THIS ONE DOESN'T APPLY...)
- One night stands and random hookups start to look cheap. Getting wasted and acting like an idiot doesn't seem as fun...
- You go through the same emotions and questions over and over, and talk with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to make a decision...
- You worry about loans, money, the future, and making a life for yourself and maybe for someone else...and while winning the race would be great, right now you'd just like to be a contender.
- What you may not realize is that everyone reading this relates to it in some way or another.
- We are in our best of times and our worst of times, trying as hard as we can to figure the whole thing out...
Life is not measured by the amount of breaths we take but by the amount of moments that take our breath away."

BOOTCAMP!!! ...and 5 new babies.....

Today was definitely a big day for me (and a few other of my friends.) I started Bootcamp at the UAB Rec Center this morning. This involves going twice a week for 4 weeks from 6:15-7:15 (which is REALLY early for me.) I haven't necessarily been excited about this, but they advertise a a guaranteed loss of weight and toning up. With bathing suit weather approaching, I really need to get my bottom in shape so I won't gross everyone out! I DEFINITELY was not prepared for how out of shape I really am. Clayton and I have an elliptical that I run on frequently, but obviously it is not doing it's job. By the end of the hour session, I thought I was going to throw up (although my stomach problems probably didn't help anything!) Although I really didn't enjoy a lot of the session, I really think it's going to work wonders.

I also have some more interesting news that we found out yesterday.... A cat had its kittens in our garage... 5 kittens.... I hate cats..... We were looking for my Harry Potter books for a friend, and while we were looking we heard some faint meowing. After searching around the garage, we found the kittens in our yard sale clothes box (guess we won't be selling those clothes, haha.) There are 3 orange ones and 2 black ones. We were afraid that the mom abandoned them, but when I went to check on them today, I saw the mom in the box.... I hope I didn't scare her away though.

So, anyone want a new kitten? haha!

Lilly's Bachelorette Weekend

I completely forgot in my last post about a HUGE event that happened over Lent... Lilly's bachelorette party!!! Lilly Seay is one of my BEST friends and has been one of my best friends since we were in 5th grade (although our friendship began much younger when we were in the first grade at Vestavia Dance.) I am honored to be one of her bridesmaids at her and her fiance's wedding on May 16th! In order to get her ready for the honeymoon, all of her bridesmaids and her great friends had a celebratory weekend in Athens, Georgia (city of University of Georgia). We had a great weekend full of shopping, eating, partying it up, and celebrating! Here are a handfull of the pictures of the weekend. I wish I could show some of her cute lingerie, but you never know who is looking at blogs!! Enjoy!

I'm baaaaackkk!

After a long 40 days, I am finally back to the blogging world! It has been a HARD 40 days with a few slip ups..... just a few ;) But, I didn't make my own posts, which was just as hard! So many things have happened over the past two months and I really hope I can remember all of them to share! Here is a quick wrap-up:
- I got into the low vision certificate program at school! This is something I have been working for since I started OT school. In case you aren't sure what this is, a low vision certificate is an extra certification that OT's can receive on top of their masters. It just offers a chance to be qualified for other settings and be a better service to older adults with low vision conditions (and hopefully a bigger paycheck!!) I am very excited about this opportunity and can't wait to practice in this field!
- Both Clay and I had some birthdays in March. I turned the big 25 and Clayton turned 27. Because of the economy and our lack of excess spending, we made the birthdays fairly small. However, we did get each other tickets to go see WICKED, which we went and saw last night! Both Clayton and I agreed that it is the best Broadway play we have ever seen. The storyline was amazing, the actors were incredibly talented.... I could just go on and on forever. I can't wait to go see it again ASAP! Before Wicked, we went to dinner at Brio with one of our great couple friends, Anne and David, who also had tickets to see Wicked. We had a great night with you guys (like always!)

- Clayton and two of his best friends, Joe and JD, have started training and participating in adventure racing. Basically, it involves running, biking, and canoeing while having to navigate through the woods with a compass ("orientering" Clay says, haha!) They are doing so great and have participated in a few races. If you are interesting in their progress, they actually have a blog... haha. Here is the link:
- I officially have about 3 weeks left of grad school!!!!!!!! I really can't put enough exclamation points at the end of that sentance!!!!!!!!!!!!! I won't officially graduate until December because we still have 2 fieldworks to comeplete, but the academic part of OT school is almost over. I really have never felt this excited, scared, overwhelmed, and under-prepared in my life. If you feel led, please pray that the next few weeks will end well and that my transition into a real OT will OT will go smoothly.
- Finally, I was an official baker this past weekend. My family had an Easter gathering today after church and I was asked to make the desserts! I made an Amish friendship bread (which was incredible if I might say =) and a blueberry cake (courtesy of Lelia King and Cindy Howze!) I got good reviews on both, so I was pretty happy. Here are some pictures of my baked goods!

I have missed the blogworld so much and am so glad I am back! I do have one more request from anyone who reads this. Our family is going through some big changes right now and really could use your prayers. One day in the future, I will make a blog post about them, but until then, we covet your prayers for change with our family.

Thanks and have a great Monday!!!
